Welcome to the Spring issue of VFX Voice!

This issue marks four years since we launched VFX Voice, and we cannot thank you enough for your enthusiastic support as a part of our global community. We’re proud to keep shining a light on outstanding visual effects artistry and innovation worldwide and lift up the creative talent who never cease to inspire us all.

In this issue, our cover story goes inside the making of Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy’s Edge VR, an exciting new way to embrace and experience the Star Wars saga. We sit down with Oscar-winning Visual Effects Supervisor Guillaume Rocheron and Universal’s head VFX executive Jennifer Bell. We delve into hot industry trends in AI, Machine & Deep Learning and the latest in virtual production workflows, and share firsthand experiences from on-set supervisors, as well as new creative tools driving artists’ passion projects. We ride the TV/streaming wave, shining a light on Marvel miniseries WandaVision, Apple+ space tale For All Mankind, HBO’s horror-drama Lovecraft Country and National Geographic’s astronaut chronicle The Right Stuff. Read on for big-screen profiles on the latest James Bond adventure No Time to Die, the video game adaptation of Monster Hunter and the cross-cultural influences of Disney’s animated epic Raya. And we continue to bring you tech & tools you can use, including expert tips on creating a waterfall simulation, and guidance from the award-winning VES Handbook of Visual Effects. It’s all here.

VFX Voice is proud to be the definitive authority on all things VFX. And we continue to bring you exclusive stories between issues that are only available online at VFXVoice.com. You can also get VFX Voice and VES updates by following us on Twitter at @VFXSociety.
