Thank you for your continued and enthusiastic support of VFX Voice as a part of our global community. We’re proud to keep shining a light on outstanding visual effects artistry and innovation worldwide and lift up the creative talent who never cease to inspire us all.
In this issue, our cover story goes inside the much-anticipated VFX streamer The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power. This issue delves further into TV/streaming with a look at Season 4 of Stranger Things, His Dark Materials and The Sandman. We go behind the big-screen hit Bullet Train, look at VFX trends in creating period dramas, the global anime market, VFX in South and East Asia, the work of dynamic director duos, and showcase our VES Germany Section. We sit down with SFX Supervisor Dan Oliver, VFX Supervisor Janelle Ralla and Pixar artist and filmmaker Domee Shi.
And we pay special tribute to former VES Executive Director Eric Roth and his remarkable 19 years at the helm of the Society. His vision was instrumental in bringing VFX Voice to life, and his powerful legacy is embodied in every page – as we continue to spotlight the visionaries and risk-takers who push the boundaries of what’s possible and advance the field of visual effects.
